end of the day recap

almost ready for macau tomorrow! i think ive finally grasped the concept of NOT over packing. and usually its not the clothes i over pack but the carry on. but im actually really excited this time. i needed that break for a month or so, it was getting to be tiring.

i have a good airline so im stoked and they FINALLY have tvs, well i hope the one we go on does and its not some janky 80s version.

i was really proud of myself tonight cause i totally lived out my new years resolution (one of them) and instead of ordering in (which i totally wanted to do) i looked in the fridge and made dinner happen. i made stuffed peppers with brown rice, corn, black beans, feta, and tomatoes tossed with olive oil, lemon juice, oregano, salt and pepper. along side was garlic and olive oil roasted cauliflower. wooo! i was so happy that the fridge is getting empty and we actually USED all the food to get to this point. so i guess i lived out 2 more of my new years resolution cause i made food in the form of the new american plate AND i cooked instead of ordering in.

so ive been super into tea lately since ginette took me to the healing tree. and its crazy how much it benifets your health. ive been into the cream earl grey black tea and i kinda got the impression that black tea isnt AMAZING for you but apparently it is! how exciting! heres a little bit of info for ya




Black Tea Saves arteries. Drinking black tea helps prevent deadly clogging of arteries and reverses poor arterial functioning that can trigger heart attacks and strokes. In arecent test, Joseph Vita, M.D., of the Boston University School of Medicine, had heart patients drink either plain water or four cups of black tea daily. In a month, impaired blood vessel functioning (a risk factor for heart attack and strokes) improved about 50% in the black tea drinkers.

Black Tea Inhibits cancer growth. Tea has long been tied to a lower risk of stomach, colon and breast cancer, although the connection is not proven. Now lab studies find that black tea chemicals actually may stop cancer growth. Rutgers University researchers showed that a compound in black tea called TF-2 caused colorectal cancer cells to "commit suicide"; normal cells were unaffected.

Black Tea Tames inflammation. TF-2, the newly discovered anti-cancer compound in black tea, suppresses the Cox-2 gene that triggers inflammation, says research at Rutgers.

Black Tea Wipes out viruses. Previous tests prove black tea can neutralize germs, including some that cause diarrhea, pneumonia, cystitis and skin infections. New research by Milton Schiffenbauer of Pace University finds that black and green tea deactivates viruses, including herpes. When you drink tea, he says, chances are good you will wipe out viruses in your mouth.

our saturday night

so me and jessica went to the healing tree yesterday. fell in love all over again (with the healing tree not with each other), bought tea etc. we came back and went to jerrys deli with christian and his sister and christian chico met us there.

jessica goes to order,

jessica: i want the club and can i get a cup of soup with that?
waiter: no ull have to pay extra cause we cant substitute.
jessica: ok can i get fries then
waiter: it only comes with cole slaw and beans.
jessica: okkkk.....can i get a turkey burger with fries then?
waiter: well you can only do that with the sandwhiches on the opposite page.
jessica: okkk i guess ill just get the club?

so then he gives christian chico his matzo ball soup with out the mazto ball...gives it to him in an extra bowl. i ask for an extra matzo ball for my soup and he says "yah, ill get you an extra matzo ball" with a smile, jessica cringes. he definitely charges me for it.

when we were all done he comes back and says "alright heres the bill everyone i can only do a 2 card minimum thank u"

were like does this guy break ANY rules? he does what he is TOLD.

other than that we saw the lady with the pink corvette who were convinced is jewish or hangs out in jewish delis. and a porn star i forgot her name but apparently she looked haggard.

we came back to our house for tea and the movie man on wire which i recommend!

im going to macau on tuesday so that should be fun. ill be back sunday and take a TON of pictures like i always do.

my thoughts on new years.....and our new years.

new years is too hyped. ive had like 2 good new years that i can remember of all my years of going out on new years. one was in 10th grade and the other was me and christians first new years where we went to an apartment complex filled with lofts and they were all open to everyone , as well as the courtyard in the middle of all of them, and it was one big party. but thats it! every year im disappointed.

my theory is....no one has to work the next day so its oversaturated with people no matter where u go. its like any other party every other day of the year just crowded, filled with badly dressed people, way too much sequins (which im guilty of) , and blazers.

so everyone always expects something great cause its like "the biggest party of the year" but its like any other party. how much bigger can a party get. idk if ive just been to my fare share of parties so its the same to me or what.

so anyway with that being said me and christian decided that next year were gonna get a cabin with our friends, cook a big dinner, and have a good time. done. no crowds, no driving, no stupid people. woo!


anyway. last night was fun cause we def made it fun with our kazoo's and noise makers. when we got there they werent letting anyone else in. russ walks up and they wont let him in, even tho hes the paid entertainment. so basically we end up getting escorted through the side of the hotel, through the kitchen, and through the lobby, got the wrist bands and got in. it was semi madness.

we had a dope (and fast) waiter named marty that seemed disappointed with our over 20% tip. we hugged at 12 cause he was taking our orders , so i kissed christian, kissed lacy on the cheek and gave marty a hug. basically "thanks for getting me drunk happy new years! and were right here together" kind of hug.

before marty we were trying to get a drink and this girl was shouting "BERNEASE! BERNEASE!" and i started laughing because u dont hear someone shouting that name very often. so her yelling trailed off, then all of a sudden, in our ear, "BERNEASE!!!!!" i was like omg! and then shes like "happy birthday!" i was dying.

there were asian girls that were hitting on christian and after i kissed him they said something along the lines of "u totally had him first" so then they made out with hassan and took pictures with russ. oh and then fell on their back.

there was a lady having her friend take pictures of her while she posed and looked away in the distance.

me and hassan have an invention thats gonna take off in 09. the eagle has landed.

at 1am they had to bring the party into the lobby because the neighbors complained. (i hate people) so royal rumble spun in the lobby with a computer speaker. that was pointless.

we all went to cafe 101 , kevin got abandoned by russ and me and lacy got BOMB vegetable soup. and i don't just mean bomb.... i mean like B-O-M-B. i was like thinking about it all day today. but the best part was when i ordered it ...it went like this


chanelle: ill have the vegetable soup
waitress: did i say cream of mushroom? i meant vegetable soup.
chanelle:.....?.......i know i want the vegetable soup.


this was followed by kevin asking if the turkey burger was ground turkey, which we all explained to him before he ordered that is in ground turkey and thats what a turkey burger is. so after he ordered it and the waitress looked at him weird he said "why did u guys let me ask that? was that stupid?" and were like we tried to tell u but u didnt listen!

we also saw ryan gossling that was fun. skeet joined us. 2 nights in a row! craze!


overall it was a good time. i hope everyone was safe and had a good time! see ya in 09!
